Our Time Away
Free — no limits, no subscription

Split the trip,
not the friendship.

Track who paid for what, in whatever currency you paid it in, and settle up once when you get home. No spreadsheet, no running tab in the group chat, no awkward reminder texts.

Somebody put the villa on their card. Somebody else has been quietly buying every dinner. Three weeks after you get home there is still a message in the group chat that says “I’ll work it out and send everyone a number.” Nobody ever sends the number.

How it works

Enough to be useful. Not so much that nobody uses it.

  • Any currency, converted as you go

Log the yen in yen and the euros in euros. We convert at the day’s rate and show every total in the one currency you picked, so nobody is doing mental math at dinner.

  • Photograph the receipt, skip the typing

Snap it and the amount, the merchant and the date come off it on their own — and it attaches itself to the right day of the trip. Or type it in by hand if that’s faster.

  • Split it however it actually happened

Evenly, or by exact amounts when the split was not even. One person can cover another’s share outright when that is simply how the trip works.

  • One settlement at the end, not twelve

We work out far fewer payments to clear everybody — so instead of six people paying six people, a couple of transfers close the whole trip.

If you already use a bill splitter

The parts they charge for are the parts a trip needs.

Bill-splitting apps are built for flatmates and standing dinners, so the travel-shaped features sit behind a subscription. Ours are the whole point, so they don’t.

The catch, since you were wondering

There isn’t one.

The app is free and stays free — the expenses, the shared itinerary, the photos, all of it. No ads, no limits, nothing held back for a paid tier.

We make money once, at the end, and only if you want it: when the trip is over we can turn it into a printed book. Plenty of people never order one, and the app works exactly the same for them.

And it isn’t only the money

The same trip holds the rest of it.

Forward your flight and hotel confirmations and they become a shared itinerary everyone can see. Everyone’s photos land in one place on the right day. The expenses you are already tracking sit alongside the day they happened, instead of in a separate app that knows nothing about the trip.
